Back Pain & Slip Disc Physiotherapy in Nalasopara
Lower back pain, disc bulge and sciatica are the most common conditions we treat in Nalasopara. Most cases settle without surgery when the right structure is loaded correctly and the aggravating habits are identified. We assess the spine and the nerve, then build a phase-wise plan around what your scan and your symptoms actually show.

Symptoms we treat with back pain & slip disc
- Pain in the lower back that worsens on sitting or bending forward
- Pain, pins and needles or numbness travelling into the buttock, thigh or calf (sciatica)
- Difficulty standing up straight after sitting for a while
- Weakness or heaviness in one leg
- Morning stiffness that eases as you move around
How your treatment works, step by step
- 1
Spine & nerve screening
Movement testing, neural tension tests and a review of your X-ray or MRI to confirm which level is involved.
- 2
Pain and pressure relief
Manual therapy, traction or decompression to offload the irritated disc and calm the nerve.
- 3
Core and hip strengthening
Progressive loading of the deep core, glutes and hip muscles that protect your spine day to day.
- 4
Habit correction
Sitting setup, lifting technique and sleeping position adjusted so the same problem does not return.
Acute back pain often eases in 4–6 sessions; disc and sciatica cases usually follow an 8–12 session phased plan.
Back Pain & Slip Disc — common questions
Do I need surgery for a slip disc?
The large majority of disc bulges improve with structured physiotherapy and do not need surgery. Surgery is considered only for progressive weakness, loss of bladder or bowel control, or pain that fails a proper conservative trial — and we will refer you promptly if we see those signs.
Should I rest completely with back pain?
No. Prolonged bed rest slows recovery. Relative rest for a day or two is fine, but graded movement is what restores your back.
Do I need an MRI before starting physiotherapy?
Not always. A clinical assessment can identify the problem in most cases. We will advise imaging if your symptoms or examination suggest it is needed.
